Online Learning

• We will be virtual: For the safety of all our students and staff, we will be offering classes virtually until the Covid19 situation is safe for us to resume face-to-face instruction. 
• 25% Tuition Discount: Due to Covid19 pandemic, community use of MCPS facilities is canceled until the end of the first semester. This will cut our overall expenses as we are not paying rent. We are extending a 25% tuition discount to all students. The discount will be automatically applied to your online application. 
• Robust virtual learning program: Our virtual learning program will be more structured. We will be offering three 40 minutes sessions with 10 minutes break in between. This should allow the teachers to cover the three core subjects (Quran, Arabic and Islamic Studies).  
• Scholarships: We will continue our scholarship program to cover tuition for students in financial need. Students may receive full or partial scholarship based on the level of their hardship.

For all levels, please go over the guidelines below with your children to ensure a smooth online experience for all:

1.  Practice patience. This is new for all of us, so let’s be patient with each other as we learn together.

2.  Set aside a quiet space. Try to have your child in a quiet room without other family members nearby to avoid distractions.

3.  Use headphones or ear buds. Let your child use headphones or earbuds, if possible, to minimize background noise and distractions.

4.  Use the mute button. Teach your child how to turn the mute button on and off. They should stay muted unless they’re asked by the teacher to talk. 

5.  Using the web cam is optional. Students and teachers should use their own judgment about whether to turn their webcam on during online calls. They are not required to do so.

6.  Use the chat window appropriately. Teach your child that they shouldn’t use the chat window to type random or inappropriate things.

7.  Be prepared. Make sure your child has all materials needed for class nearby, such as a notebook, pencil, and textbooks. Also be sure to give yourself a few minutes to get logged into the online class.

8.  Be polite and respectful. Remind your child that they will be in a classroom setting. They shouldn’t be eating, talking to other family members in the room, talking out of turn in the online class, etc.
